Principles
In addition to the Core Values of the Department of Public Health Sciences,
TeenNet's work is guided by 5 principles:
- Participation:
key involvement (ownership) at all stages by teens
- Relevance to Teens:
focus on health, personal and social issues identified by teens
- Autonomy Supportive: respects individual choice and exploration
of options regarding health behaviour
- Active Learning and Fun: engaging, flexible and highly interactive, stimulates self directed learning
- Access: designed and adapted to be accessible and relevant to diverse populations
Critical Success Factors:
TeenNet has identified 5 significant ingredient for success in any youth
promotion initiatives.
