TeenNet and its associated websites adhere to the following standards of privacy

Personal Information
Any information you provide in forms, emails, or discussion forums will be used anonymously. Any email address[es] you provide us will not be disclosed, sold, or given to third parties unless required by law.

Email
We may periodically contact you, via email, to participate in TeenNet research. Participation in research is optional, and you may decline this offer at any time. You may also ask, via email, for us not to contact you.

TeenNet Research
TeenNet, University of Toronto, is part of an organization committed to ensuring that no harm comes to anyone who is part of any research project. All TeenNet studies first undergo review by the Human Subjects Review Committee, University of Toronto.

Discussion Forum
Any information you provide in our discussion boards may be used anonymously

IP Address
IP Addresses is a unique string of numbers assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider. All web servers automatically record the IP addresses of its users. The IP Address contains information that can be used to determine approximately where a computer, accessing a site, is located. The IP address cannot identify the person using the computer.

TeenNet uses the IP address to identify our users' country of origin. The IP address could also be used to help an Internet Service Provider (the holder of the IP address) identify users who pose a threat to the operation of the TeenNet's sites (for example, those who threaten others). This scenario would only be used in extreme circumstances. TeenNet has not, to date, taken this action.

Security
The TeenNet Project employs reasonable security measures to protect the information gathered for statistics.
